Facebook is yet again keeping up with the times and adding another feature. This one is Bitmoji-like Avatars. After testing it out internationally last year in Europe and Australia, they have finally expanded avatar customization to the U.S.
Avatars are cartoonish images you create who represent you. Essentially, a personalized emoji to use as a reaction. This customizable characters can be used in comments, stories, and messenger. And one day, text posts with backgrounds soon.
To make a character, go to comments on Facebook or Messenger, tap the smiley button, then the sticker lab. From there, choose “create your avatar”. Once there, you can customize hairstyles, complexions, and outfits. One site created an avatar and reported back that Avatar creation only works in Facebook’s mobile app. And it can be accessed from the comment composer or an old post, not a new post.
